Cakes by Sue – Review

This morning I had the most delightfully edible surprise land on my doorstep (of which I’m always grateful for); a gorgeously delicious, dark bundle of huge red velvet chocolate cupcakes all courtesy of Cakes by Sue.  These cupcakes caught my attention because they look, and are, perfectly crafted yet distinctly homemade and delightfully delicious.I can’t even think where to begin describing how yummy these cakes are.  Simply put, they were so delicious that I ate two in one session!  This was not good for the old diet but well worth the extra session in the gym.  The sponge cake was moist, light and fluffy with the most intense red colouring I have ever come across.  The rich butter cream frosting was smooth and mildly flavoured, not too sweet and not too overpowering.

These cupcakes are stunning and ideal for a rustic English wedding.  Picture these little beauties wrapped in vintage spotty cup cases, displayed on a variety of dainty cake stands or how about giving one to each of your guests as a unique favour.  I can’t wait to try the lemon poppy seed and vanilla flavours this afternoon with a pot of tea.  Well worth a try for all cake lovers!  WARNING: These cakes are very hard to resist so you might want to order a few more than you need!  Visit the Cupcake Frenzy inspiration page for a variety of pictures.Cakes by Sue offer a wide range of scrumptious bespoke cupcakes and currently cater for intimate sized occasions.  Themes, colour schemes and flavourings are all tailored to meet your needs.  Cakes by Sue services are available to Northamptonshire and Warwickshire; further afield areas may be possible however prior contact is advised with all orders.  Contact can be made at
