Dita Florita

Thank you for speaking to Penny’s Wedding.  Please tell us more about Dita Florita.

Dita Florita is a new vintage wedding dress boutique selling original vintage gowns exclusively online and at wedding fairs.

Where did the inspiration for this concept come from?

The inspiration for Dita Florita was born out of my frustration in searching for a dress for my own wedding.  I knew that I wanted a traditional long gown for the ceremony and during the day but I also wanted a shorter and more comfortable dress to wear in the evening.  I love searching through markets and charity shops for bargain vintage finds, so an original vintage dress was an obvious choice for me.

Unfortunately the only options available were to either spend a lot of money on what was only going to be worn as an evening dress, or else to buy a dress through the internet, taking a risk as to whether I would like it and whether it would even fit.

I therefore set about launching an online vintage wedding dress shop which gives you the best of both worlds.  You get the cost savings of buying from an online shop but with the assurance that you can return the dress if it does not suit.

Are there any popular wedding trends at the moment?

Despite sceptics insisting that the vintage wedding trend has passed, I believe that it is still very much alive, although adapting.  Rather than having vintage as a running theme throughout their entire wedding, many brides and grooms are now opting to have subtle vintage details mixed with more modern elements of their big day.  For example, a bride may choose to wear a vintage wedding dress, but to add contemporary styling with her hair, make-up and accessories.

What is a typical pricing structure for your wedding gowns?

All our dresses are original vintage gowns and prices depend on the age and condition of each dress.  Dresses currently range from £100 to £400.

Why are the dresses so reasonably priced?

The dresses are reasonably priced as they are all sourced and sold online, thereby keeping overheads to a minimum.

How long does it take from placing an order to receiving my dress?

We aim to deliver each dress within 3 working days.

I’m worried about ordering online; explain what is involved in the booking process and do you accept returns?

In short, once an order has been placed and payment has been received your dress will be sent to you by special delivery.  We aim to deliver each dress within 3 working days.  If you are not satisfied with the dress you can return it and receive a full refund, provided that it is returned within 10 days and in the exact same condition.

The terms and conditions of ordering, delivery and returns are set out on our website

How can we contact you?
