At Penny’s Wedding we firmly believe you can never interview too many photographers (plus we love to look at their amazing work!)
Today’s interview is with iDJ Photography; they provide a bespoke wedding service to suit your requirements. If you need any price quotes, please contact them directly as this is not covered in the interview. Enjoy!
How long have you been photographing weddings?
I have been a photographer for the last 4 years, and have been photographing weddings for about 3 years.
What is your typical photographic style?
I try to capture the atmosphere around the event; typically smiles, laughter and dancing as well as capturing the emotional journey of the day with the bride and groom. Of course I cover any formal group shots that the couple request.
Do you have a portfolio that we can view?
Yes, I have a website which is www.idjphotography.com
How can you advise a couple who are undecided about styles and formats?
I do understand the stresses that come with organising a wedding and I come across couples that know very little about photography and what to expect from a wedding photographer. I will use my experience and portfolio to discuss ideas and to help educate them. This will allow the couple to make confident decisions.
Who exactly will be shooting the wedding?
Myself – all weddings that are booked with me are performed by myself. Sometimes I may arrange for an assistant or a 2nd photographer requiring experience in the field, to work alongside me.
In which part of the country do you work?
I would travel all over the world for my work. I currently live in Richmond, Surrey and predominantly cover London and the surrounding areas from Brighton to Birmingham.
What would happen if you were sick on the day of the wedding?
This has not happened to me in the past, but of course I would try to make the wedding. If this was not possible, I would arrange a replacement photographer immediately, as long as the couple are happy with this.
What type of camera equipment do you use to shoot weddings?
I use a Nikon d5000 and Nikon d40, complete with flash gun and accessories.
Do you carry liability insurance?
Yes of course! It’s so important to carry liability insurance.
