Back in February I was invited along to attend a live photo shoot showcasing the work of Lucie Green Bridal. Lucie is one of those true British gems and when you meet her you’ll understand what I mean. She is so enthusiastic, passionate and has a true love for what she does, plus she is the loveliest person you could ever meet.
It was a gloriously sunny morning, if not slightly chilly, on the day of the shoot, which took place at Cruck Barn in Milton Keynes. Cruck Barn is a beautiful 16th Century barn with true medieval charm. It’s conveniently located close to strong road networks but at the same time it’s hidden away for you to enjoy the peaceful and romantic charm that it has to offer.
I love going to shoots because I get to see the masters at work in great detail and it’s always lots of fun. Stupidly I wore a heeled boot and we were outside in the wooded area which didn’t go well with my balancing but I didn’t fall flat on my face, just tripped occasionally!
Lucie started her career 10 years ago working in the very boutique she now owns, at that time she was working for the previous owner, gaining experience making tiaras and decorating corsets. Lucie has worked in the fashion industry for several years as well as completing a degree, but her true love has captured her heart and she has returned to the boutique, designing dresses, shoes and accessories for her unique signature collection.
Being such a unique bridal boutique with a unique way of working and a very individual style, Lucie wanted the photo shoot to reflect this. She wanted to create looks that were naturally beautiful, light and fun but at the same time, romantic and ethereal. Her collection has a very romantic vintage feel to it so she wanted the styling and photography to reflect this, and boy did she get this right! The location of the shoot gave a real Enchanted Garden setting which suited the style of the shoot.
Lucie admits that she is a perfectionist and this is reflected with her passion and determination (as witnessed by me at this shoot) – she works closely with each bride to make their wedding dreams come true.
The Alicia gown has a simple silhouette but a gorgeous bow detail with individually hand dyed lace pieces all decorated with Swarovski crystals and pearls. This dress is all about the beautiful detail on this bow so needs the attention of a very good photographer to capture that beauty.
“I want each of my brides to have the best day of their life on their wedding day, their wedding dress is such a big part of that, I want them to enjoy every second of the process and to cherish the experience. Through each of the consultations my bride has with me, they can see their dress being made and completed and can have creative input at each stage so that the end result is exactly what they wanted, down to the smallest of details – the dress of their dreams.”
Lucie is very passionate about working with local, like-minded and talented people. The other suppliers she worked with for this shoot are all very talented and have similar styles and goals to her so she knew that something magical was about to happen. Everything Lucie creates is completely handmade in Milton Keynes, and everything is bespoke to suit each individual bride.
“I hope you love the collection as much as I do! I think the shoot has epitomised me and my designs, I’m so pleased with the photos. The team did such a fabulous job and I can’t wait to do the next one now!”
I completely agree with you Lucie. Thank you so much to the team for allowing me to tag along and share the experience with you.
