Happy Monday. I might be on my holiday and sunning myself by the pool as we speak, but that doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten about my lovely readers. Today we have an exclusive interview with Claire of So Very Inviting.
Hi Claire, thank you for speaking with Penny’s Wedding. Please tell us about So Very Inviting.
So Very Inviting was created in November 2011. It combines my design talents with my love of weddings. After working as a clothing and print designer for the past eight years, I felt like I needed a change. I created my personal wedding Stationery two years previous and I caught the wedding bug.
I wanted my stationery to be able to reflect the couples’ vision for their special day so I created a range of designs based around the most popular wedding themes. Each piece can be made bespoke to the couple through changing colours, fonts and wording.
I also offer a one-off design service if the couple has something specific in mind. I understand each wedding is unique and therefore flexibility is a must. I also understand that detail is important so I like to spend time getting to know a couple to enable me to capture their thoughts. This is the most important day of their life and every experience needs to reflect this. I work with the highest quality printers and papers to ensure premium products.
What services and products are available?
I can make all aspects of stationery from ‘save the dates’ to table plans, name cards and personalised bunting; everything is created individually so there are no restrictions to the imagination. I can also create mood boards to help visualise the planning before the big event. I can design almost anything imaginable – even the wedding dress!
Where does your inspiration come from?
My work as a fashion designer ensures I’m up to speed with all trends before they hit the high street. Fashion trends are grown from the same principles as wedding trends and through my research, I see what dresses and key colour pallets will be on trend roughly eighteen months in advance. Ultimately my inspiration is the couples themselves.
Are there any popular trends at the moment?
Yes most definitely. Vintage is a key theme whether it’s a vintage rose print or a vintage style brooch embellishment; it’s so popular at the minute. Dusky pinks, teals and turquoise hues are also very popular this year.
What is a typical pricing structure for your products?
I’m unique in the fact I offer premium products at a fraction of what you would expect. As a general rule, the bigger the quantity the lower the price per item becomes. I aim to keep the prices low so the products are available to everyone. I believe every wedding deserves beautiful stationery. Can you offer advice to a couple who don’t know where to begin with their wedding theme?
Absolutely, I have lots of trend boards that I’ve created and I would happily share these with couples. Wedding stationery is often the first glimpse a guest will get of your wedding so it needs to set the correct tone. From the invitation or save the date, you get a feel of the theme for the day not to mention the key colours. This is a very important factor when you’re a guest as no one wants to turn up wearing the same colour as the bridesmaids.
How long does it take from placing an order to receiving my stationery?
It takes approximately three weeks from approving the email proof.
Explain what is involved in the booking process?
Once we have reached the final design I will then generate a proof of all artwork that will be sent via email for approval. Once everything is to your liking it’s sent to print, any embellishments are added and then it’s carefully wrapped and sent out to you. It couldn’t be easier!
How will my items be delivered to me?
All items are sent recorded delivery unless you prefer to collect them.
