Recently a bride-to-be contacted me, panicking about bridal underwear. She didn’t know where to begin and couldn’t find any advice, so naturally Penny’s Wedding got to work to help save the day.
I get a little baffled by the number of brides who spend a small fortune on their wedding underwear, especially when they are quite likely not to wear it again. Doesn’t it feel like you buy lots of amazing things for your wedding day, yet never use them again? It doesn’t have to be that way. Anyway, I digress. Let’s get back to the pants.
Of course it’s an important issue because you want to feel your best, however on this occasion, I feel you should choose comfort and practicality over style and ‘sexiness’. The only thing you need to remember when shopping for your underwear is to choose something you are familiar with. If you are used to wearing delicate, dainty, lace basques or corsets, and you’re comfortable in those, then go for it. If you’re a t-shirt bra and Bridget Jones pants kind of lady, then stick to it.
There’s only one person who will see your undergarments and 99% of the time, he won’t even notice if it’s new!
We’ve done a little bit of Internet shopping (tough life hey!) and bought you a couple of our favourites.
